Mini Monstera

Description:
The Mini Monstera (Rhaphidophora tetrasperma), also known as the "Ginny" or "Philodendron Ginny," is a smaller, more compact relative of the popular Monstera Deliciosa. With its distinct, deeply lobed leaves and vining growth habit, it has become a favourite among plant enthusiasts. Unlike the larger Monstera varieties, the Mini Monstera is more manageable in size, making it perfect for smaller spaces. It thrives in bright, indirect light and adds a tropical touch to any room. It is also relatively low-maintenance, making it a great choice for both beginners and seasoned plant lovers.

Watering:
Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil feel dry. The Mini Monstera likes its soil to be kept moist but not soggy. Be sure to let the excess water drain out of the pot to avoid water-logging, as this can lead to root rot. During the Winter months, reduce watering slightly, as the plant’s growth slows down.

Fertilizer:
Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (Spring and Summer). In the Fall and Winter months, reduce fertilizing as the plant’s growth slows down. Over-fertilizing can lead to leggy growth or nutrient burn, so use fertilizer sparingly.

Lighting:
Prefers bright, indirect light. While it can tolerate some direct sunlight, too much can scorch its leaves. If kept in low light, the plant may become leggy and its growth may slow down. A spot near a bright, East- or West-facing window is ideal for optimal growth.

Temperature:
Thrives in temperatures between 65-85°F (18-29°C). Avoid exposing it to cold drafts or temperatures below 50°F (10°C), as it is sensitive to the cold and can suffer damage. Keep it in a warm spot with stable temperatures for best growth.

Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity. If the air is too dry, mist the leaves occasionally, use a humidity tray, or place the plant near a humidifier to create a more favourable environment. Dry air can lead to browning leaf tips and slow down the plant’s growth.
