Philodendron xanadu 'Golden'

Description:
Philodendron xanadu 'Golden' is an attractive cultivar with vibrant golden-yellow variegation on its glossy, deeply lobed leaves. Known for its compact, bushy growth habit, it makes an excellent addition to both indoor and office spaces. The 'Golden' variety of Philodendron xanadu is a relatively easy-to-care-for plant that adapts well to a variety of environments. Its unique foliage colour gives it a striking appearance, providing a tropical vibe with minimal maintenance. As with other Philodendrons, it also helps purify indoor air by removing harmful toxins.

Watering:
Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry to the touch. The plant prefers its soil to be evenly moist but not waterlogged. Be sure to allow excess water to drain from the pot to prevent root rot. In cooler months, reduce watering as the plant’s growth slows.

Fertilizer:
Feed with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (Spring and Summer). In the Fall and Winter, cut back on fertilizing as the plant’s growth slows down. Avoid over-fertilizing, as this can cause excessive growth and leggy stems.

Lighting:
Prefers bright, indirect light, which enhances its golden variegation. While it can tolerate some lower light conditions, insufficient light can cause the variegation to fade and slow down growth. Direct sunlight can scorch the delicate leaves, so filtered light is best. An East- or North-facing window is ideal for optimal growth.

Temperature:
Thrives in temperatures between 65-80°F (18-27°C). Like other Philodendrons, it’s sensitive to cold temperatures, so keep it in a warm space and avoid placing it in areas where temperatures drop below 50°F (10°C). A consistent, warm environment is key to the plant’s health.

Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity. If the air is too dry, the plant may develop brown tips on its leaves. To maintain the best conditions, mist the leaves occasionally, use a humidity tray, or place the plant near a humidifier. Higher humidity will help the plant grow strong and vibrant.
