Description:
Pothos 'Golden' is a popular and versatile houseplant known for its heart-shaped leaves with beautiful golden-yellow marbling. This striking variegation creates a bright and lively contrast, making it a favourite among plant enthusiasts. As a trailing or climbing plant, it can be used in hanging baskets, pots, or trained along trellises. Easy to care for and resilient, Pothos 'Golden' is ideal for beginners and experienced plant owners alike. Additionally, it’s an excellent air purifier, helping to remove toxins from the air while adding greenery to your space.
Watering:
Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry to the touch. Pothos 'Golden' prefers to dry out slightly between waterings but should never be left to dry out completely for extended periods. Ensure the pot has proper drainage to avoid water pooling at the bottom, as this could lead to root rot. During the cooler months, reduce watering, as the plant’s growth slows.
Fertilizer:
Feed with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (Spring and Summer). In the Fall and Winter, reduce fertilizing as the plant’s growth slows. Over-fertilizing can cause leggy growth or burn the foliage, so use fertilizer sparingly.
Lighting:
Pothos 'Golden' thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light conditions. However, lower light may cause the golden variegation to fade, and growth may slow down. Direct sunlight should be avoided, as it can scorch the leaves. A spot near a North- or East-facing window is ideal.
Temperature:
Thrives in temperatures between 65-80°F (18-27°C). Like most Pothos varieties, it is sensitive to cold and should be kept in a warm space. Avoid placing it in areas where temperatures drop below 50°F (10°C), as cold air can harm the plant.
Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity. While it can tolerate average household humidity, it will thrive in a more humid environment. Low humidity can cause the edges of the leaves to become dry and crispy. To maintain optimal humidity, mist the leaves occasionally, use a humidity tray, or place the plant near a humidifier.
