Syngonium 'Pixie'

Description:
Syngonium 'Pixie' is a compact, ornamental houseplant that features arrow-shaped, variegated leaves. This cultivar of the Syngonium family is prized for its small size and unique colour pattern, with leaves typically displaying shades of green, cream, and white. The plant has a compact growth habit, making it ideal for smaller spaces or as a table or hanging plant. Syngonium 'Pixie' is a relatively low-maintenance plant that is perfect for beginners and is known for its ability to purify the air, making it a great addition to any indoor environment.

Watering:
Water when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry to the touch. Syngonium 'Pixie' prefers evenly moist soil but should not be overwatered, as this can lead to root rot. Ensure the pot has good drainage and always allow excess water to escape. During the cooler months, reduce watering as the plant's growth slows. In drier conditions, it may need more frequent watering, but always check the soil to prevent overwatering.

Fertilizer:
Feed with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (Spring and Summer). In Fall and Winter, reduce fertilizing as the plant enters a period of slower growth. Too much fertilizer can lead to leggy growth or leaf burn, so it’s important to use a diluted solution.

Lighting:
Syngonium 'Pixie' prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate lower light but may exhibit slower growth, and the variegation in the leaves may fade. Direct sunlight should be avoided, as it can scorch the leaves. A North- or East-facing window is ideal for this plant, but it can also thrive in light conditions further from the window.

Temperature:
Thrives in temperatures between 65-80°F (18-27°C). Like most Syngoniums, 'Pixie' is sensitive to cold and should be kept away from drafts or areas with temperatures below 50°F (10°C). A steady, warm environment is ideal for the plant to thrive.

Humidity:
Prefers moderate to high humidity. While it can tolerate average household humidity, Syngonium 'Pixie' will thrive with higher humidity levels. If the air is too dry, the plant may develop brown tips on the leaves. To maintain optimal humidity, consider misting the plant, placing it on a humidity tray, or using a room humidifier.
